Language Advocacy Day 2022

Advocacy for languages is critical in every country. As a new member of the Washington-based Joint National Committee on Languages and the National Council for Languages and International Studies (JNCL-NCLIS) CALEC took part in Language Advocacy Day 2022. Hundreds of virtual meetings took place on Capitol Hill between members of Congress, their staff, and over 250 language advocates representing 50 states to support World Language Advancement, Heritage & Bilingual Education, the Seal of Biliteracy, Access & Equity in International Education, and Native American Languages.
