Agnes Angeles

Agnes Angeles is a native French speaker with a Master’s Degree in Communication and Art History and a background in Contemporary Art, Fashion and Education. She is a visual art teacher and an illustrator inspired by her students, her travels, and her childhood. When she is not drawing, she appreciates long hikes in nature, dancing with friends and spending time with her family and her two cats, talking to them in three languages, French, Spanish and English.

Karine Cohen-Dicker

Born in Paris, Karine Cohen-Dicker began her career as a journalist. She is the author of the biography “George Clooney, Gentleman Acteur,” published by Nouveau Monde. Now a New Yorker and mom of two bilingual children, she has created journalism workshops in French in Brooklyn public schools and currently teaches her mother tongue to students the same age as Biscotte and her friends.

Olivier Czajka

Olivier is a professional graphic designer and illustrator. He founded Robbygraphics in 2011. With a vibrant imagination, Olivier delights in visual storytelling. After bringing the characters of Le Petit Monde to life, he developed a playful identity for the company. Olivier lives in France with his young family and enjoys accompanying Tania and Lapin on their new adventures.

Ayé Clarisse Hager-M’Boua

Ayé Clarisse Hager-M’Boua is a linguist and teacher-researcher in the Department of Language Sciences & Communication at Alassane Ouattara University in Côte d’Ivoire. Specializing in syntax within the framework of generative grammar, her research interests also encompass phonology, focusing on phonemes. She co-edited the book A Bilingual Revolution for Africa, which explores the potential of multilingual education across the continent.

Mehdi Lazar

Mehdi Lazar is a scholar-practitioner, author, and education leader based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He serves as the Academic Director at the International School of Boston and has authored six books on global education, leadership, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. A graduate of ESCP Business School, Mehdi holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Panthéon-Sorbonne University and is completing a Doctor of Business Administration at TBS Education. His research and work focus on leadership, school leadership, and intercultural competence, blending human resources management and sociology. Mehdi is also a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.

Tania is an M.Ed Teaching Artist and Early Years Practitioner living in Scotland since 1991. Passionate about making the French language accessible to all children through the arts, Tania set up Le Petit Monde in 2008 and has developed a distinctive bilingual English / French writing style for her puppet shows and picture books.

Mark Hansen has been involved in education for nearly 2 decades as a classroom teacher, Master Teacher of Mathematics and Deputy Principal. He is also the father of 4 children. He has a passion for learning and for igniting that passion in others, particularly in mathematics, where his work has been featured in educational journals. His goal is for schools and societies to have students who are confident, creative communicators in mathematics, that they see the purpose in it and enjoy engaging with it. He is based in Australia.

Barbara Schindelhauer advocates for education through the eyes of children and promotes the holistic concept “Let’s Visit Numberland” among teachers and parents. She has presented projects and studies in different settings and has been training teachers since 2004 in Germany and internationally. She has been a keynote speaker and session leader at various conferences with a focus on mathematics and literacy in Germany, the UK, Poland and Chile. Barbara’s mission is to fully embrace the chances of early mathematics and contribute to equal chances for all children.

Ellen Bialystok is a Canadian professor of psychology. She carries the rank of Distinguished Research Professor at York University, in Toronto, where she is director of the Lifespan Cognition and Development Lab, and is also an associate scientist at the Rotman Research Institute of the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1976 with a specialization in cognitive and language development in children.

Bertrand Tchoumi is an educator, entrepreneur, and advocate for diversity and equity in education. He lectures at the University of the People and has served as a principal in multiple schools across various cities. Originally from Cameroon, he holds degrees in African literature, educational leadership, and urban educational leadership. A former journalist and French professor, he is also the author of Regards sans complexe and its English version, Uniquely You!. In his free time, he enjoys soccer and reading.

Fadzai Gwaradzimba

Fadzai Gwaradzimba loves writing and using her imagination to tell children stories especially to her two granddaughters who inspired The Adventures of Zenzi and the Talking Bird. A former academic and international civil servant, Fadzai spent 30 years of her career in international development working for the United Nations in many parts of the world. She loves writing, traveling and African story telling. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, she now lives in Brooklyn, New York. This is her first children’s book.

Claire Lerognon is a language and communications specialist at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. Her interest in languages and language acquisition led to a colorful career teaching French to students ranging from preschoolers to diplomats and the UN’s global staff. She is currently part of the Language and Communications Training Unit where she specializes in training design and development geared towards fostering multilingualism. The Heart of an Artichoke is her first book — and boldest learning venture yet. Claire lives in Brooklyn, New York.
